Frequently asked questions
The two-day traditional ATLS course is ideal for new providers and those whose certification has expired and is outside the 6 month grace period. The hybrid course is also designed for new providers or those with expired certifications outside the grace period but offers the flexibility of completing the didactic portion online. The one-day recertification course is for providers who need to re-certify or are within six months of their certification expiration.
ATLS verification status is current for four years from the date of completion of an ATLS Traditional, Hybrid or Refresher course. Providers have a six-month grace period after their status expires to take a Refresher course, However they are not considered ATLS verified during that time. Check with your institution to determine if you are required to be current with your ATLS verification.
